Debbie Steyn was born in Randfontein, near Johannesburg, South Africa on the 20th July 1961. At 48 years of age she says her passion is to do oil paintings of famous people! "I have no formal training - only from my heart" she says (this is hard to believe when you see the quality of her work) "My love for people and their lives makes me want them to live on forever and ever, that's why i paint them, so that the world will never forget them! I try very hard to capture a part of the person's personality or soul into each of my paintings. Even if a portrait of someone is only painted, IT CAN AND MUST COME ALIVE IN THE VIEWER'S EYES! I am proud of my paintings and will always give 200% of myself while busy working on a new project.
